託福語法:this These That Those
這幾個詞用做形容詞時，要與所修飾的名詞在數上一緻。它們是獨一隨名詞的數的變化而變化的形容詞。
This beach was quite empty last year．
去年這個海灘很空蕩。
This exhibition will be open until the end of May．
這次展覽會要開到5月底。
These people come from that hotel over there．
這些人是從那邊那個飯店來的。
What does that notice say？
那個通知說什麽？
That exhibition closed a month ago．
那個展覽一個月前就閉幕瞭。
He was dismissed on the 13th．That night the factory went on fire．
他在13號被解雇。那天晚上工廠失火瞭。
Do you see those birds at the top of the tree？
妳看到樹梢上的那些鳥瞭嗎？
有時爲瞭錶示強調，用this/these/that/those+名詞+of＋your/hers等或Ann’s等這一結構，而不用 your/her等＋名詞結構：
This diet of mine/My diet isn’t having much effect．
我節食的方法效果不大。
That car of Ann’s/Ann’s car is always breaking down．
安的那輛車老要壞。
由這樣的短語構成的話通常具有“令人不滿”的貶義，但不一定總是這樣。
B this/these/，that/those用做代詞：
This is my umbrella．That’s yours．
這把傘是我的。那是妳的。
These are the old classrooms． Those are the new ones．
這些是舊教室。那些是新的。
-Who’s that（man over there）？
-That’s Tom Jones．
-那（邊的那個男人）是誰？
-那是湯姆·瓊斯。
播送完一個節目時說：
That was the concerto in C minor by Vivaldi．
剛剛播送的是維瓦爾迪作麴的C小調協奏麴。
